What is Strombolicus Rex?

Strombolicus Rex is not a thing. Strombolicus Rex is a person. Sort of. Strombolicus Rex is the name of my primary toon on City of Villains, an MMO I've been playing with some regularity in the last couple of months. The name is a play on Stromboli, my cat's name. She's a girl and the name should technically be Strombolicus Regina or something, but Strombolicus Rex simply sounds better and doesn't rhyme with vagina.

I have a number of other 'handles' on the internets. My primary is 'helium3' or (when the former is not available) 'heliumiiv'. Why the isotope of helium that has one neutron and two protons? Because it forms a super-fluid (sort of a frictionless liquid) at temperatures very very close to absolute zero and is a thermonuclear fusion reaction inhibitor on account of its voracious appetite for thermal neutrons. Or something. Basically, it's a chance to proudly display my geek-badge.

Another handle I use with a fair amount of regularity is some variation of the name Vincennzo Capelli. Why the weird pseudo-italian name? Vincennzo Capelli was the name of my favorite character in my good friend Robert Farley's D&D campaign that he ran on a regular basis from 2002 to 2004. For some unfathomable reason I decided the character's name would make a good online handle when I set up my blog. I don't currently have any alts with this name in CoV. Maybe if I start playing CoH though . . .

Way way back in the stone age, I used to go by Uruk Hai. When my friends on the #gayportland chat channel asked me what my handle meant, I told them that the Uruk Hai were bigger, meaner, nastier orcs than usual. So yeah, I'm a bigger, meaner, nastier orc than usual.
